Saturday & Sunday, June 7th-8th, 2025
When: Saturday June 7th (8am) thru Sunday June 8th (approx 1pm), 2025.
Where: Bear Lake, near Pinecrest California. Location may change due to snow level.
Who: Adult leaders, BSA Scouts (14+ years old or 13+ with completion of 8th grade, & 1st class or above). BSA Scouts must be accompanied by a specified adult leader at a ratio of 1 adult for every 3 BSA Scouts. Please see the Greater Yosemite Council High Adventure Team Code of Conduct" for clarification.
Cost: $40.00 (45.00 after Saturday, May 28th, 2025).
Numbers: There must be at least 6 participants registered by May 24th. Class size is limited to 12 individuals.
Includes: Dinner on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Participants need to supply their own snacks and lunch. Wilderness permit provided.
Bring: Backpack - fully loaded. You are going on a weekend backpacking trip. Certificate of online training for trek safely/weather/youth protection.
Payment: Payment can be made online at the time of registration or to avoid the convenience fee you may walk, mail or call in your payment to the council office.
To receive a High Adventure Blue Card, you must show current proof of:
- Current registered BSA Scouter
- Youth protection training
- Hazardous Weather training

The course objective is to practice what you learned in the Basic Backpacking Awareness course. Develop back country competency and proficiency among Scout Leaders and older Scouts for leading treks. The emphasis is on developing an awareness of backpacking and wilderness skills so that wilderness travel can be conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. The training is designed for all registered Scouts
Registrant Ratio of 1 adult for every three youth must be met.
Pre-requisite: Must have attended Basic Backpacking.
